Saystar gave birth to Alli­ga­tor on April 22^nd, 2009, at 8:20pm. Because she gave birth at a rea­son­able hour and Tina wasn’t the only one around, we were able to video the birth and invite a few friends over to see and meet the baby. The baby got stuck, and Tina had to lend a hand get­ting Alli­ga­tor to come out and play. Within an hour he had got­ten up and was walk­ing around the stall. This video is of the birth and first hour of his life.

Because of the loca­tion of the house and the dis­tinct pos­si­bil­ity that we would be flooded again, we even­tu­ally set­tled on the unor­thi­dox plan of hav­ing the house lifted and a block foun­da­tion built under­neath. These plans were obvi­ously only pos­si­ble because of FEMA, our flood insur­ance, and the many friends who helped us (emo­tion­ally and finan­cially) man­age the build­ing process. The own­ers of our bor­ders were also very help­ful and under­stand­ing of the prob­lems and needs that this unique sit­u­a­tion posed.

In the Spring of 2007, our farm­house was flooded. The video below was recorded sev­eral hours before the peak of the flood­ing, which hap­pened some­time dur­ing the night.
